As CEO, Jeffrey provides leadership and strategic direction across all GMC markets and disciplines. Prior to becoming CEO, he served as president of the firm’s north region, encompassing north Alabama and Tennessee, and on the board of directors. Jeffrey opened the Birmingham office in 1998 as head of the architectural division and was appointed to the Executive Committee in 2003. His leadership qualities, energy level and vision, coupled with the effectiveness of his communication and interpersonal skills, are a large part of the firm’s success, and have resulted in the Birmingham office more than tripling the size of its staff and annual revenue. He has managed some of the firm’s most complex, high-profile projects, including the Auburn University South Donahue Residence Hall, Wellness Kitchen and Parking Deck, AIDT Robotics Training Park, Ross Bridge Renaissance Hotel and the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine Auburn Campus. Jeffrey has been recognized as one of Birmingham Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 and Who’s Who in Architecture, Engineering and Construction, in addition to being a recipient of the Auburn University Young Alumni Achievement Award and a member of Leadership Birmingham. After studying abroad in Europe and at the Auburn Center for Urban Studies and Boston Architectural Center, he graduated magna cum laude and first in his class from the Auburn University School of Architecture. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Alabama Association of School Boards, Alabama Association of School Administrators, Economic Development Association of Alabama, National League of Cities and North Alabama Industrial Development Association.
