As CEO Emeritus, Bill provides strategic direction across all markets and disciplines for growth strategy and assists with large-scale comprehensive business development initiatives. Previously, he led GMC as the firm’s first CEO, overseeing a period of rapid growth, expansion and diversification. Under Bill’s leadership, GMC earned recognition as one of the nation’s top AE firms and has been the recipient of many prestigious awards. In his more than 40 years of practice, he has been instrumental in the firm’s overall business performance, its culture and identity, and geographic expansion.

Bill founded GMC’s architectural division, launching the company closer to its current status as one of the most comprehensive AE design firms in the Southeast.

Over his four decades of practice, he has designed notable projects throughout the state and region. He has been heavily involved in numerous creative, civic and leadership institutions including the Governor Kay Ivey Honorary Inaugural Committee Member; State of Alabama Higher Education Partnership, Chairman; Governor’s Task Force for Efficiency in Government, appointed member; State of Alabama Health Planning Certificate of Need Board Member, appointed; Business Council of Alabama, Regional Advisory Committee; Trustmark Bank Board of Directors; Montgomery Business Committee for the Arts, past chairman; Jackson Hospital Foundation Board of Directors; Leadership Alabama Board of Directors; and Teach for America Board of Directors. He graduated with bachelor’s degrees in both Environmental Design and Architecture from Auburn University, in addition to post-graduate studies at Harvard University.
