Five Star Water Supply District

GM&C was selected by the Five Star Water Supply District for services that included planning, design, environmental, and construction management for the new Water Treatment Plant and Transmission System. The District is composed of members from five (5) public water systems in Autauga and Elmore Counties and its sole purpose is to produce and supply supplemental water to each system. Total project cost (including pipelines and tanks) was approximately $12.5 million.

The plant capacity was initially 4 MGD, ultimately expandable to 12 MGD, with moderate additions. Recently the plant has been approved by ADEM for high filtration to 6 MGD. The project included a Raw Water Intake Pump Station on the Walter Bouldin Reservoir on the Coosa River. The transmission system includes 15 miles of 24-inch, 20-inch, 16-inch and 10-inch D.I. transmission main and one 2,000,000 Gallon Ground Storage Tank delivering supplemental water to the five (5) member systems. A fully automated control and SCADA system allows Five Star to monitor and control its operations.
