Mercedes Daimler Drive is a re-alignment and widening project extending from Interstate 59 to U.S. Highway 11 in Tuscaloosa County. The new highway is five lanes to accommodate additional traffic due to the recent plant expansion. Additional work on this project included widening of the northbound exit ramp from Interstate 59 to Mercedes and dual on-bound entrance lanes to Interstate 59 North. A new highway from the I-59 service road overpass to U.S. Highway 11 providing access to the east side of the plant is also part of this project.
