Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc. designed all components of the Montgomery Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center addition and expansion. This 145 million dollar project is the centerpiece for the redevelopment of downtown Montgomery, Alabama. Developed in partnership with the City of Montgomery, the Retirement Systems of Alabama engaged Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood to expand the civic center for larger trade shows, conventions and exhibitions. This includes more prefunction space for attendance registration. TVS, Inc. is the consultant for the Convention Center component.

In addition to this expansion, a 347 room 4-star hotel has been added, along with an 1,800 seat auditorium, 14,000 square foot ballroom with meeting spaces, 70,000 square feet of exhibit/ convention space, and a 650-car parking deck. A 140-seat restaurant was also designed on the lower level with access along Commerce Street, one of the premier addresses in downtown Montgomery.
