Wallace State Community College Campus Master Plan
Size: 250 acres
Status: Completed 2008
GMC worked with the Wallace State Community College administration to develop a master plan for the Hanceville campus. This 250 acre campus has dedicated much of the space to roads and parking lots dissecting the areas between 41 buildings in a random manner. Our challenge in developing a comprehensive master plan was to develop a more efficient system of circulation and parking. This plan is pedestrian friendly with formal greens and quads to tie down the random placement of existing buildings and drives that provide linkage to all parts of the campus. A new functional and phasing plan for new development, expansion, and improvements was developed with a series of meetings with various faculty and staff of Wallace State with the consulting team.
