The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Student Health and Wellness Center combines the existing Learning Resource Center (LRC) with the Counseling and Wellness Center and Student Health Services Center into one centralized complex. This state-of-the-art facility is intended to integrate student health services to better serve and meet the needs of the University’s rapidly growing student population. Approximately 30,000 sf of the third floor is being renovated to house the Wellness Center, which includes student primary care, counseling and wellness, and health promotion. The program anticipates 12,000 to 15,000 patients per year and includes counseling space, exam rooms, laboratory spaces, and immunization area, x-ray room, waiting and administrative areas and office and associated support spaces.
