Melissa has more than 10 years of multidisciplinary project management experience in the environmental sciences and related fields. Her background includes project coordination and compliance with state and federal agencies including Alabama Department of Environmental Management, Alabama Department of Transportation, Alabama Historical Commission, National Resources and Conservation Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Environmental Protection Agency, as well as Tribal coordination and environmental compliance through work with the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. Her experience includes threatened and endangered species surveys, macroinvertebrate sampling, groundwater monitoring, wetland delineations and Section 404/Section 10 permitting, mitigation banking and land management, invasive species removal, stream restorations, watershed management, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, National Environmental Policy Act documents, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System construction stormwater and mining pit operations permitting/inspection and solid waste/illegal dump site remediation plans. She also has experience collaborating with local economic development groups, including working with the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama to coordinate the Alabama AdvantageSite designation process for industrial sites. Melissa graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in ecology.
