Project Awards: EPA Landfill Methane Outreach Program Achievement of the Year, Governor's Air Quality Conservationist of the Year
GMC provided civil, environmental, transportation, geotechnical engineering, and land surveying, as well as architecture services for the manufacturing facility and interior design for the showroom. An industrial access road was designed to allow for two-way truck traffic and was funded by State of Alabama Industrial Access grants. A rail spur, funded by ADECA’s CDBG program, was designed with all granite ballast to suit the Owner’s requirement for no limestone on-site. GMC worked with the Army Corps of Engineers on the wetlands and waters delineation and confirmation, as well as on individual permits for impacts to wetlands and waters. NPDES construction storm water runoff permits were obtained through ADEM. The project has received numerous awards, including the EPA's Landfill Methane Outreach Program Achievement of the Year in 2006; Governor's Air Quality Conservationist of the Year Award in 2007; Award of Merit by South Central Construction News; and the NAIOP Overall Engineering Design Award in 2007.
