ASU Baseball Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex
GMC provided civil engineering, landscape architecture, architecture, geotechnical engineering and electrical engineering design for the Alabama State University Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex, bringing baseball back to campus for the first time since 1996. The complex features an intramural soccer/football field, a press box with concessions and restrooms, dugouts, grand-stand bleachers with bucket seating, scoreboard and also a separate restroom facility. The field includes a 12-inch root zone underdrain system along with irrigation to carry away excess water, and lighting for the baseball field was designed to meet NCAA television standards. GMC also provided construction materials testing during construction.
