GMC provided civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and Special Inspections for the new 2-story, 60,000 square-foot precast concrete facility. The planned building pad would have fill zones varying in thickness down to the partially weathered rock, and GMC recommended using rammed aggregate piers to support the building and to minimize the differential settlement. GMC also provided recommendations for the below grade pool walls both inside and outside of the building. Our services during construction consisted of observing, monitoring, and testing of the following: Foundations (Rammed Aggregate Piers, Shallow, and Slab on Grade), Mass Grading, Post Tension Slab on Grade, backfill / grid observation of MSE walls, Precast Concrete Erection Structural Connections, and Pavement Subgrade and Base Testing.
