GMC’s Geotechnical engineers evaluate earth materials such as soil, rock and groundwater and how they interact with structures such as building foundations, retaining systems and roadways. Our geotechnical expertise is often used in GMC’s large multidisciplinary designs and is frequently sought by clients as a service in its own right. From preliminary design and analysis through testing and observation during construction, GMC’s geotechnical engineers can provide the expertise for long term, cost-effective design solutions.

Wind Creek Hotel and Resort

Wetumpka, Alabama

GMC performed Construction Materials Testing for a new 20-story hotel and casino and a new five-story parking deck in Wetumpka, AL. In addition to the team providing the Material Testing Services during the site preparation, the services also included concrete sampling and testing, post-tensioning inspections, reinforcing steel observations, masonry grout sampling and testing, structural steel observation and testing, and fireproofing. Special Inspection services per the IBC Code were also performed. The total cost of the Hotel & Casino project was $300 million.
