Fred Hanna joins GMC as energy practice leader in South Carolina

GMC is pleased to announce Fred Hanna has joined the firm as Energy Practice Leader in Columbia, S.C.

Hanna has more than 38 years of experience in natural gas engineering, management and consulting, including executive management of gas operations, engineering and customer service functions as an operator. He has successfully managed numerous integrated engineering services projects as a consultant to Fortune 500 corporations, private, municipal and public gas systems, coordinating multiple engineering and environmental disciplines and subconsultants for pipeline and facilities projects.

He brings new capabilities to GMC in the natural gas market that will greatly benefit our clients,” Kevin Laird, GMC Regional Vice President of South Carolina, said. “Fred’s experience, coupled with GMC’s multi-disciplined practice, will provide natural gas clients an integrated delivery system which is unique in our market.”

Hanna will lead and direct the Energy Practice of GMC. The Energy Practice, or natural gas division, includes gas system transmission and distribution projects. His responsibilities include business development, gas pipeline design oversight, project management, strategic direction and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) permitting oversight, among others.

Hanna is a registered professional engineer in South Carolina and North Carolina. He graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Engineering.
