On March 25 and 26, 2021 an EF4 Tornado went through the city of Newnan leaving devastating damage along the way. GMC established a team of professional and were on the ground within 24 hours of the storm worked with the City of Newnan to identify all damages which included, vegetative debris, damaged buildings, streets and street signs, to complete the Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA) for FEMA.

GMC provided management, cost recovery, and mitigation planning for repairs to the roadways, traffic signals, city building and parks. GMC also provided management, staff and training for monitoring the collection of over 500,000 CY of vegetative debris and over 4.000 tons of C&D debris.

GMC has worked with City staff to gather all supporting documentation for expenses, put information into FEMA required format and submit through FEMA’s Grants Portal for support of public assistance funding and hazard mitigation. GMC also provided assistance in applying to Private Property Debris Removal and assistance in applying for an NRCS grant to remove debris for streams and drainage canals.
