Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is pleased to welcome geotechnical engineer Stephen Nickerson, PE in Charleston, South Carolina. He joins the firm as regional geotechnical leader for the Carolinas and southern Georgia, where he is responsible for overseeing growth and development of the geotechnical division.

During his more than 15-year career, Nickerson has managed ground improvement and deep foundations design-build construction projects, including pre-construction, estimating, design and project management.

“Stephen’s experience in both the engineering and specialty contracting side of geotechnical engineering and testing is a tremendous asset to GMC,” Kevin Wales, GMC Executive Vice President of Geotechnical Engineering, said. “Having him on our team will greatly enhance our growth and our ability to service our clients and GMC offices throughout the region.”

Nickerson graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and California.
