AIA - Historical Architect

Mike is a historical architect with vast knowledge of historically appropriate materials, detailing, colors, scale, forms, and construction methods.. He has a vast knowledge of historical renovations, preservation and recreation. The complexities of historical and historically styled architecture are unique and highly detailed. His love of different architectural periods is reflected in his passion for proportions, color, and form in preserving and recreating lost architectural details. He has worked on projects that are listed on the National Register of Historical Places following their specific guidelines for restoration as well as others with local and regional historic significance. His deep knowledge of historical architectural styles not only gives him the ability to renovate existing historic buildings, but also the unique ability to design new buildings using modern methods and materials that are appropriate to their historical era in detailing, scale and forms. His experience lends itself well to his extensive experience on higher educational campuses and with historical and cultural institutions such as American Village. He has designed almost every building at American Village reflecting different periods in American history including exact detailed recreations of the Oval Office and designs of Independence Hall based on the original in Philadelphia where he was granted full access. Mike’s passion for historic architecture includes all phases of architectural archaeology, planning, conceptual design, design development, construction drawings, specifications, bidding and negotiating and construction administration.
