Those who have served our country deserve the best care available and this project provides the highest quality of care to veterans in Gainesville. The project included the demolition and abatement of an existing facility and the construction of the 100,000-square-foot, two-story outpatient clinic and the 57,000-square-foot, single-story mental health clinic, designated for veterans.
GMC provided architecture, interior design and landscape architecture for both the outpatient clinic and the mental health facility. Services offered at the clinic include primary care, telehealth, prosthetics, radiology, women’s health, CT scans and MRI. At the facility veterans have access to a wide array of services like primary care, women’s health, whole health, physical medicine and rehabilitation, diagnostic imaging and several specialty services.
The mental health clinic offers an various necessary services to veterans in the community, including mental health intensive care management, psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery, substance abuse treatment, compensated work therapy, post-traumatic stress disorder recovery, community care and suicide prevention. These comprehensive services are essential to support the mental health and wellbeing of veterans, acknowledging the unique challenges they face.
The Gainesville Veterans Affairs Mental Health and Outpatient Clinics were each awarded Two Green Globes for New Construction ratings by the Green Building Initiative.
