This expansion of the existing facility added 80,500 square feet to StandardAero's Augusta MRO facility. This new facility supports additional large aircraft for airframe and avionics while also significantly expanding the engine shop to further support many of those aircraft. The expansion of the facilities includes hangar space for aircraft and avionics maintenance, repair, and overhaul work, an additional engine shop, offices, increased parking and more.
With the expansion, over 60% of new space was added to the August Regional Airport (AGS) footprint, creating almost 100 new aviation jobs in Georgia and boosting capacity to support customers operating super midsize to large cabin aircraft. Additionally, local firms were specifically selected on the project to increase the impact directly to the city's economy.
This addition brings great value to the Bush Field Airport (AGS) where the StandardAero Augusta MRO is housed. Herbert L. Judon Jr., AGS’s Executive Director said, "This project is the largest business development announcement in generations. This expansion is a key building block for future Airport growth. We are very fortunate to have partnerships, both private and public, that work closely together to bring this to fruition. The expansion will not only generate significant regional economic impact, but it will also provide support to our efforts to educate local youth and increase workforce development.”
