March 23, 2021 · Announcements
Franklin, Tenn. – Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC), a multidisciplined architecture and engineering firm with locations throughout the Southeast, is pleased to announce the acquisition of PDC Consultants, LLC, an aviation consulting firm based in Franklin, Tenn.
PDC specializes in the planning, design and construction of general aviation airports, primarily in Tennessee and Kentucky. Led by firm principals Tony Manci, Mark Paslick and Ron Fitzgerald, the firm has worked on more than 400 general aviation projects since its inception in 2006 and has become one of the most reputable aviation planning and engineering firms in the region.
The addition of PDC’s 13 employees doubles the size of the GMC’s Aviation team and enhances the airport planning and engineering capabilities of both firms. The acquisition also further expands GMC’s geographic footprint and provides the PDC team with a depth of resources through GMC’s in-house disciplines.
“We believe our teams are truly stronger together, and this merger will greatly benefit both companies and those we serve,” GMC Vice President of Aviation Ryan Pearce said. “We look forward to fully integrating their experienced team with ours and enhancing our services and expertise to further invest in our aviation clients.”
PDC (which stands for planning, design and construction) offers full-service airport planning and engineering services, including everything from pre-planning through post-construction. The firm has led efforts to develop new general aviation airports from the ground up, with two more currently in the planning stages. Their team of highly experienced professionals also includes individuals with more than 30 years of experience as airport project managers and some of the most recognized and experienced airport planners and engineers in the Southeast.
GMC’s Aviation team plans, designs and manages airport programs for airports of all sizes, from small general airports and commercial service, to military installations. In addition to aviation planning and engineering services, GMC has the added benefit of providing architecture, civil engineering, environmental services, landscape architecture, planning, transportation engineering, right-of-way/land acquisition, geotechnical engineering, electrical engineering, surveying and disaster recovery services.
“GMC and PDC’s shared commitment to core values, focus on providing personal service for their clients and unified team approach made this partnership seem like a natural fit,” PDC President Tony Manci said. “We’re honored and excited to join GMC, and we look forward to accomplishing great things together.”
The firms have been working on integration plans to ensure a seamless transition for staff, clients and consultants, which will take place over the next few months. The PDC staff will remain in their current location at 133 Holiday Court, Suite 102, operating as GMC’s Franklin office.
