Tripp Barrineau was recently appointed to the role of regional vice president of South Carolina for local architecture and engineering firm Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC). Barrineau steps into the role after serving as a vice president of landscape architecture since joining the firm in 2024.

As RVP, Barrineau is responsible for leading business development efforts and providing oversight for all of GMC’s South Carolina offices, in partnership with the respective office leaders.

GMC has been in South Carolina for over 15 years, and in that time, the team has grown to include more than 80 professionals in four offices. In his new position, Barrineau will be integral in overseeing and continuing this strategic growth.

“I’m humbled at the opportunity to serve in this new role for GMC in South Carolina,” said Barrineau. “I believe serving in this capacity will allow me to stay better connected to our existing clients as well as those we’ll be able to work with in the future to help impact communities throughout the state.”

Barrineau’s almost two-decade career includes working with municipalities, architects and private developers to achieve their vision. Barrineau has been involved in everything from community master planning to site design and landscape architecture for projects in the Carolinas and throughout the Southeast. He has a deep understanding of the responsibility of communicating with each stakeholder.

“One of the things that sets Tripp apart is his ability to connect with our team and with our clients,” said GMC Executive Vice President of Engineering Kevin Laird, who also previously served as the South Carolina RVP. “He understands the unique needs and opportunities across South Carolina because he’s been on the ground, building relationships and delivering results to communities across the state. I’m excited to see how he leads our people and strengthens our presence as he steps into this new role.”

Barrineau is a registered landscape architect in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. He received his bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Clemson University.
