Atlanta Projects

The 2023 update to Newton County’s Comprehensive Plan refines the county’s vision, policies and tools for managing growth over the coming years. A key piece of implementation is a new Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) that consolidates zoning, subdivision and design standards all in one document. The update process engaged public input and aimed to respond to recent growth pressures, infrastructure needs and development concerns.
The Pembroke, GA Comprehensive Plan is a long-term roadmap guiding the city’s growth through 2045 while preserving its small-town character and historic charm. It focuses on managing development, expanding infrastructure, and ensuring housing and services meet the needs of a growing population. The plan balances future growth with the community’s vision, values, and environmental priorities.
GMC was approached to help the city of Douglasville move into the future. The plan, Forward Douglasville, 2023–2033, is the city’s roadmap for growth and development over a 10-year horizon. This update process includes evaluating past progress, analyzing data and trends (population, housing, economy, infrastructure), setting future goals, and defining how to implement them.
The Bryan County, GA Comprehensive Plan, named Blueprint Bryan 2045, is a long-term strategy to guide growth, development and infrastructure through 2045. It addresses rapid population increases, aiming to balance growth with community character and environmental preservation. It is designed as a flexible, living document that will evolve with future needs and challenges.
The new building for Jack Turner Stadium serves as the University of Georgia’s new softball clubhouse and indoor practice facility, featuring more than 20,000 square feet of development space for student-athletes. There was an overarching need to adapt the stadium and surrounding complex grounds to align with the evolving trends of the modern sport.
Jessie Davis Park stands as a welcoming corridor to the City of Douglasville and will serve the community for generations to come. Recent design upgrades include an updated synthetic turf football field, a new gym with two indoor basketball courts, a zero-entry pool with a splash pad area, expanded parking, new playground areas, a multi-use trail system, pavilion areas and a dedicated senior center.
