The City of Gadsden had not had a comprehensive plan in nearly 50 years. The City has a new aggressive administration that wants strategic short term action and a community wide long term vision. The plan includes primary elements that address reclaiming the city’s riverfront, housing and blight, commercial corridor.

Engaging with the Gadsden community was one of the most important parts in developing this comprehensive plan for Gadsden. Citywide and district meetings, community events, steering committees and online surveys have been part of the process to help encourage citizens to get involved and provide input to develop the master plan for their city.
