GMC partnered with the City of Statesboro and Bulloch County to develop and adopt a major update to the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) for 2045. Beginning with a review of the largely implemented Long Range Transportation Plan from 2009, a full Needs Assessment was conducted including an updated Travel Demand Model to show results of alternative scenarios.
The collaborative planning process includes the planning and engineering staff representing both the city and county, steering committee, and technical advisory committee. An important focus of the 2045 LRTP is the extensive public engagement opportunities including, public open house workshops, an online community survey, stakeholder interviews, and updates on the city and county websites.
Among the priorities emerging in the planning process are responding to the high growth generated by new economic development; examining opportunities for true multi-modal transportation including vehicles, bike, walk & transit; improving the functionality of transportation; all while maintaining rural and small town character.
GMC is one of the most comprehensive multi-disciplined architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast.
