This state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is designed to provide advanced neonatal care in a modern, patient-centered environment that prioritizes both clinical efficiency and family support. The NICU features 18 private patient rooms, ensuring a quiet and controlled space that promotes healing and development for mother and baby. Of these, six rooms are designed to accommodate overnight stays for families, reinforcing Baptist East’s commitment to family-integrated care.
Along with the state-of-the-art private rooms, there are 12 infant positions which are shared and organized for maximized visibility for both staff and families, fostering efficient monitoring and seamless communication among the care team. In total, the unit can house 30 infant beds, providing a balanced approach between privacy for family and accessibility for high quality neonatal care.
A unique and heartwarming feature of the NICU is its little library, lovingly created by a NICU nurse who is also a former NICU parent. This special library offers a diverse collection of books in multiple languages, providing comfort and connection during a challenging time. Parents are encouraged to read to the babies, creating moments of warmth and bonding. It’s a beautiful reminder of the importance of care, compassion and love, thanks to the dedicated individuals who care for these tiny patients.
