Set to break ground in Summer 2026, the Palm Bay Hospital Patient Tower Expansion is a transformative project designed to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community. This five-story addition will significantly increase the hospital’s capacity and enhance the patient experience, with completion anticipated in 2028.
The new tower will introduce 60 additional inpatient beds, directly addressing current capacity challenges and supporting the hospital’s mission to deliver exceptional care. The expansion also features state-of-the-art operating rooms, cath labs, and pre-op/recovery spaces—doubling the number of these critical facilities and enabling more efficient, high-quality surgical care. An upgraded Sterile Processing Department will further support advanced clinical operations.
To ensure the hospital can continue to grow alongside the community, two floors will be shelled for future expansion, with the potential to add up to 60 more beds as demand increases. The project also includes improved campus navigation and expanded parking for visitors and associates, making access easier and more convenient for patients and their families.
Currently, Palm Bay Hospital offers 120 beds, a team of over 200 skilled physicians, and more than 40 medical specialties. In 2024 alone, the 27-bed Emergency Department treated over 53,000 emergency cases—a testament to the hospital’s vital role in the region. This expansion is a forward-thinking investment in the health and well-being of Palm Bay and its surrounding communities.
