Local architecture and engineering firm Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) has a new regional vice president of Georgia. Andy Pippin takes on the role after serving as a business development leader with the firm since 2016.

As RVP, he is responsible for leading business development efforts and providing oversight for all of GMC’s Georgia offices, in partnership with the respective office leaders. In the past 10 years, GMC has grown its Georgia team to include more than 100 professionals in five offices. In his new position, Pippin will be integral in overseeing and continuing this strategic growth.

Andy Pippin regional vice president

Pippin comes to his new role with a wealth of experience. As a former city manager, he is in tune with the inner workings of local governments and understands their needs. He has first-hand knowledge of what goes into project identification, budgeting and funding as well as approval, letting, awarding and management. Throughout his career, he has overseen projects ranging from transportation improvements to sewage treatment plant construction and is familiar with the various funding sources employed by local governments.

In addition to his expertise, Pippin is well-connected across the state of Georgia, and his inherent ability to build relationships with others allows him to uniquely serve clients. Along with his external relationships, Pippin has long been recognized as a leader in the company and the state.

This transition takes place as former Georgia RVP Jim Teel was promoted to a new role as vice president of market strategy for the firm. As the firmwide leader of market strategy, he is responsible for directing the internal marketing team, external marketing efforts, brand positioning, business development and the newly formed governmental relations division.

“One of the things that’s always stood out about Andy is his genuine passion and care for our people and our clients,” said Jim Teel. “Andy has been a leader as we have grown in Georgia over the past nine years. He understands our various services and the unique opportunities across the state because he’s been on the ground, building relationships and serving communities for years. I can’t think of a better person to step into this role.”
