GMC recently joined the Beaufort-Jasper YMCA, along with community members, local leaders and partners in Jasper County, to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the James Fisher Memorial Foundation YMCA in Hardeeville, South Carolina.
Held in partnership with the Jasper County Chamber of Commerce and the Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, the event highlighted the power of collaboration and a shared vision for expanding access to health and wellness in the community.
The new 33,100-square-foot YMCA is located on nearly 20 acres in the East Argent community, bringing a vital resource to an area where the nearest YMCA was previously more than 30 miles away.
Designed to be welcoming, accessible and inclusive for all ages and abilities, the facility fosters meaningful community connection while supporting health and wellness at every stage of life. It features a wide range of amenities, including a six-lane aquatics complex, wellness center, group exercise studios, locker rooms, certified preschool programs and dedicated childcare and nursery spaces.
Outdoor trails and green space further enhance recreational opportunities, with the site also designed to accommodate future additions such as a gymnasium, water park and multi-purpose fields.
GMC is proud to have been part of this impactful project that strengthens community connection and expands access to wellness. Our team provided architecture and interior design services for this phase, with JE Dunn Construction serving as the general contractor. Additional project partners include Fuller Group, Stephens Engineering & Consulting, Carolina Engineering Solutions, and Ward Edwards Engineering.
