GMC partnered with the City of Griffin to develop and adopt a major update to the City's Comprehensive Plan. The collaborative planning process includes the Griffin Planning and Development staff and the project team, Steering Committee, Planning Commission and the Mayor and City Commission. An important focus of the Comprehensive Plan Update is the extensive public engagement opportunities including, public open house workshops, an online community survey, stakeholder interviews, regular Mayor and City Commission and Planning Commission updates and updates on the city website.
Vision statement: The City of Griffin shall be a model of excellence in local government; a safe, well planned community with equal opportunity for all. The GMC Team, in coordination with the City Staff, reviewed the 2018 Griffin Comprehensive Plan, the Georgia Department of Community Affairs Quality Community Objectives, and conducted various public outreach efforts to identify the following goals consistent with the Vision Statement. The objectives and actions are intended to provide direction to City officials, staff, and appointees as they make decisions and work towards achieving these goals.
