Mobile County Government Center Annex

Client
Mobile County Commission
Size
108,000 square feet

The annex is located in downtown Mobile between the existing Mobile Government Plaza and Mardi Gras Park. The original smaller annex was torn down to make way for the new four-story facility. The design was complicated by the historic LeVert House that is on the north side of the new annex.

"The completed building stands as one of the county's most trouble-free facilities!" - Tyler Martin, Project Manager, County Engineer

Serving Mobile

The new expanded annex houses a wide variety of County functions: Probate Court offices, records, and archives, two Probate courtrooms, judges chambers and legal library, downtown branch offices for the License and Revenue Commissioners, Board of Registrars, Marriage License and Records Intake.

Designed for Mobile

The building is traditional-style architecture, which compliments the other buildings of historic downtown Mobile without pretending to be classical. It transitions between the modern Government Plaza building next door and the Historic District across the street.
