Sarasota’s Planning and Development One Stop building serves as a centralized hub for all permit-related services, offering citizens and stakeholders a streamlined accessible location allowing for conveniency. The building fosters a foundation of community and sustainably with the support of design and collaboration.
The design of PDS One Stop aims to increase community connection by taking a new direction on its architecture, signifying a commitment to excellence and environmental resilience. The building features a welcoming public entry lobby, permit center, meeting rooms and both collaboration and office spaces. GMC provided both architecture and interior design services for this project.
The benefits for a one-stop location consist of improvement of operations as well as stronger communication among different departments. There is now code enforcement, planning, zoning, land development, environmental protection, property management and development review coordination all in one location. Additionally, operations in one location promote cost effectiveness with reduction of traveling, shared technology resources and project delivery.
