Chris Engel

In his role as Executive Vice President for Architecture, Chris is responsible for leading the architectural practice for the firm by guiding the team to deliver quality services, educating young professionals, providing guidance on project and risk management and maintaining a consistent focus on client service. During his career, he has gained experience in historic renovation, repositioning historic structures, urban infill and planning, hospitality design, complex industrial facility design, integrated project teams and sustainable building technologies. He is a Leadership Birmingham and Leadership Alabama Summit graduate and was also named Top 40 Under 40 by Birmingham Business Journal.  Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture with special studies in interior design and a minor in business from Auburn University and served in many roles at his alma mater as an Urban Studio adjunct professor, Architecture Advisory Council board member and Auburn University visiting professor. He is a licensed architect in Alabama and a LEED Accredited Professional.
